Xj has always been an itch for me, but whenever I find them they are soooooo beat. I also know very little about them. Anyway I hope you’re able to lock one down so I can get a piece of that excitement

That thing looks like too much of a beater for $3,500. If you’re not too terribly far from my neck of the woods (Somerset, KY), I’ll keep an eye out for some local Cherokees. This is one of those vehicles I would never settle for; there’s just too many of them for cheap.

Finding a clean XJ isn’t too hard. Finding a clean 4- liter, manual, 4wd XJ is brutal.
Anyway, Somerset is a bit of a stretch (I’m in Indy) , but if you spot something between there and Louisville let me know.

Hey thanks for the invite man! If my Silverado is trailworthy in the next month or so I may bring it. Right now I have the interior ripped out to install new rubber floors. Next it needs a set of CV’s and exhaust work. We’re also going to look at a Wrangler today for my wife, so if that works out we could bring it.
I’ll adjust my search to include manuals; that changes the game a little. I’ll keep my eyes peeled either way. Indy is a bit of a haul, but for the right ride a road trip can definitely be worth it. I’ll be on the lookout!
